Dr Kim Duistermaat

Kim Duistermaat studied Archaeology of the Near East at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Both in fieldwork and publication, she has mostly concentrated on Syria, where between 1997 and 2005 she was the director of the Netherlands Institute for Academic Studies in Damascus. Since 2006 she is the director of the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo (NVIC). Her main archaeological interests concern pottery production, production organisation, seals and sealings and the history of Archaeology.
