Dr Salima IkramStudied Archaeology and Egyptology in Cambridge. Worked as an archaeologist, surveyor, and zooarchaeologist on various excavations at Buto, Abu Roash, Giza, Abusir, Saqqara, Gebel el-Haridi, Abydos, Dendera, Luxor, and Baharia Oasis. Co-dDirector, of the North Kharga Oasis Survey from 2001-2007 and project director for the collection of animal mummies in the Egyptian Museum 1998-2004. From 1993 assistant professor and from 2005 professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo. Joined the Leiden excavations in 2006 for a study of animal bones untill 2009.
